About FakeOrLegit
FakeOrLegit is an independent scam-risk analysis tool. We help people figure out whether a suspicious website, email, or text message is likely a scam - without forcing them to install anything, sign up, or pay.
Who runs this
FakeOrLegit is operated by Aura Bionics Inc., a privately held company incorporated in the Province of Ontario, Canada. We build small consumer-safety and consumer-tech products. We are not affiliated with any of the brands, carriers, banks, or government agencies referenced on this site.
What we do - and what we do not do
- We provide automated risk signals based on publicly observable patterns.
- We do not guarantee whether a website, email, or message is safe.
- We do not store the raw text of submitted messages.
- We do not sell user data.
How we make money
FakeOrLegit is free to use. We may earn affiliate commissions if you click through to a security tool we recommend (for example, a password manager or identity-monitoring service) and decide to sign up. We only list tools we believe make a real difference in consumer safety, and the analysis on this site is the same whether or not you use any of them.
